In primary school, you learnt about science. The science you learnt in primary school consisted of three main subjects: Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Physics is the concern of this book and we shall find out what it is, after we have first looked at the meaning of Science. Science is the study of problems that human beings experience in their daily lives relating to the natural environment and the study of questions that pop into curious children’s minds, such as: What makes the wind blow? What is in a cloud? What is a stone made of? What does the bell do when it rings? How does a seed grow into a tree? What makes a rainbow? Finding answers to such questions is part of science.
